Web Design from Truska
The basis of any web site has to be twofold:
That the site looks good
That the site works
There are many great looking sites out there
in cyberspace and a lot of them just do not work. They
are built in such way that they may be very slow, are
totally search engine unfriendly, have terrible navigation
and even do not have the appropriate information on the
site.
Others look terrible but may be getting
to the first page on Google, but once people take one
look they click the back button as fast as they can.
There is no secret in making a site look
good and making it work at the same time. It just requires
careful thought, an understanding of what your customers
and potential customers want, a good dose of common sense
and an eye on ensuring that your brand, image and message
is carefully portrayed. On top of this the site must be
easy to navigate, not look cluttered and include the information
your clients or users want or expect. Keywords and phrases
must be planned and built in as appropriate - the whole
Search Engine Optimisation bit.
At Truska this is what we apply to the design
and build of all our clients' sites. The emphasis on brand,
search engines, functionality, etc. will vary dramatically
from site to site and we pride ourselves in finding the
right balance for each and every client we design and
build sites for.
A range of sites we have designed and/or
built can be found on our portfolio
pages along with some information of them.
The cost of designing a site can vary. We
are always asked "How much will it cost to design
me a web site?" Well the answer to that is "How
long is a piece of string?". However we live in the
real world and as businesses we need to know what items
are going to cost and to ensure we get value for money.
That is why, as a starting point, we have designed what
we call the "Typical Small Business Site" There
is nothing really typical about it except it includes
a standard selection of pages that go to make up a typical
Small Business Web site.
