This message from Jenni along with some updates on the event can be found on her fund raising page as well.
I am competing at the Red Dragon Endurance Riding Festival in Wales on 3rd and 4th October and decided to use the event to raise funds for a charity that I think you would like to support. Whizz-Kidz is a charity that is all about giving disabled children the chance to lead a more independent life. Their service meets their individual mobility needs and ensures they get the right mobility equipment, advice and training at the right time.
They are virtually 100% reliant on voluntary funds raised through events, trusts, companies and individuals. They need our support to raise more money so that more young people can lead an active childhood.
My cousin has Cerebral Palsy and he is benefiting from the work of the charity. Through this we have seen the huge benefit their work does first hand and are keen to help by raising as much money as possible. I hope you will be able to support me and help them as I attempt my longest competitive ride yet.
The Red Dragon is one of the top International Endurance events in the Endurance Riding Calendar and I will be competing in the Dragon's Egg event - I will be riding 50 miles (80km) over 2 days (25 miles each day). Although I have completed several 30 mile rides on 1 day this is the first 2 day, and longest, event I have entered, and hopefully will complete.
Donations can be made in cash or cheque directly to me or via credit card using this JustGiving web site.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now. You will be helping children, like my cousin, to gain mobility that under other circumstances may never be able to move independently.
Thank you
