How secure is the System?
Bottom line, if you lose your security key you WILL
lose your data. The system works on the basis of 448-Bit
BlowFish encryption, a tried and tested method of encryption.
The system uses an encryption key, a string of text, to
break down the data into an unreadable format. The data is
then transferred to the remote server where it is held in
encrypted format. If you need to recover the file it is called
back from the server and decrypted on your PC or network.
At no time does unencrypted data or the encryption key itself
get sent over the internet by the system.
We strongly suggest that you keep several copies of your
encryption key in a safe place, possible in a safe at your
bank and/or solicitor. If your main PC goes down or gets
stolen then you can easily get the software back and we can
help get your account up and running again but we cannot
help you with your encryption key - lose it -lose your data.....
