Hamilton and Kirk Caterers

Having had a web site for several years
and seeing little or no results from it Hamilton and
Kirk contracted Truska to undertake a review of the
site along with the implementation of improvements
to increase the effectiveness of the site.
To do this Truska undertook to host the site and, keeping
to the existing look and feel, re-coded the whole site
to make it much more "search engine friendly".

Initially an Actinic site that was
not working terribly well. The client was referred
to Truska by Actinic, a credit to Truska's abilities
with the product. Although the look of the site has
not changed dramatically the whole working have been
re-developed making it much more efficient and therefore
usable. Considerable scope for design and other developments
has also been built in to the design. The companies
product data is held in an Access Database and in the
companies Opera Account s system. This relationship
between these system allows all information to be held
in the companies systems only once, therefore, making
changes to products and prices very efficient to carry
out and manage. Printed catalogues, including several
monthly specials for different divisions of the business
are also produced using the above systems as the data
source. Truska had to develop a link to Actinic from
this same source ensuring that there was NO repetitive
tasks. Updates of the complete web shop take place
as often as once a week when many product details and
prices change. Some products are removed due to either
end of line or non-availibility etc and others are
added. Products also go onto and come off special offer
on a monthly basis. All this information is transferred
from Access and Opera to Actinic and then on to the
web site.
Customer details are also be stored in the system allowing
clients a secure log on to the system for ordering
on account. Special offers and coupons can also be
issued as incentives.
The site went live slightly ahead of schedule.
